Why I Pour My Heart into Piper's Peak - Idaho Gives 2025

Piper’s Peak was born from a deep place in my heart. After losing my sister—a fierce, joyful soul who introduced me to fly fishing and encouraged all her girlfriends to find adventure outdoors—I found myself standing knee-deep in a river, fly rod in hand, thinking of her. That first cast changed me. It connected me to her spirit and to something much bigger: the healing, empowering force of nature itself.

When we founded Piper’s Peak in 2019, it was with that spirit in mind: to create a space where women and girls could find confidence, community, and joy in the outdoors. A place where trying something new—like hiking a trail, paddling a river, or learning to cast a fly line—felt safe, supportive, and accessible.
As a mom, it's been one of my greatest joys to take my own children fly fishing and to involve them in volunteer activities with Piper’s Peak. Watching them learn new skills, meet incredible people, and grow their love for the wild world around them has been incredibly rewarding.
This organization is my heart’s work. I pour myself into it because I believe every woman and girl deserves the same chance to connect with nature, to learn something new, and to find her strength in the outdoors—without barriers standing in the way. That’s why all of our programs are offered free of charge to participants.
And that’s why your support during Idaho Gives is so important.

Thanks to donations from people like you, we’ve exceeded our Idaho Gives goals every year since 2022—and we’re on track to do it again this year. But we can't get there without your help.
If you’ve already given—thank you. If not, please consider making a gift today. Every dollar helps us reach more women and girls, empowering them with the skills, confidence, and community they need.

From my family—and my heart—to yours, thank you for believing in what we do.
