Please join Piper's Peak at Maryland Chapter Trout Unlimited's monthly meet up, tonight, April 19, at Union Craft Brewing for a fly tying happy hour and a presentation highlighting contributions to the fly fishing community in our area by women anglers, and opportunities to get involved!

(All are more than welcome, not just women.)

FLY TYING: (6:00pm)

If you have an interest in fly tying please join Vince and Stephen at the brewery for a fly tying demonstration and session. We will start around 6pm. Please bring your fly tying vise and other materials/equipment if you'd like to tie with the group; curious observers are welcome too! (Fly tying will be in-person only, not on Zoom.)

SPEAKERS: (7:30pm)

Paige Reed of Piper's Peak, a nonprofit organization, provides a safe place for women to grow their wilderness skills through introductory courses and follow-on field opportunities. The organization also teaches young women to be stewards of the land through hunting and fishing.

Carol Stevenson represents Chesapeake Women Anglers (CWA), a women's fly fishing club with members who live in and around the greater Washington DC metropolitan area, including MD, VA, and beyond. CWA also partners with environmental groups to protect and improve our waters, take part in community events, and socialize. Learn more about CWA on their website.

Phil Gay is a retired Naval Officer who flew a fighter jet in over 500 combat missions and over 1,000 carrier landings. He was also the captain of the nuclear aircraft carrier, the USS John F. Kennedy. Phil is a Fly Fishers International Master certified instructor. He and Carol Stevenson operate Trout & About, a fly fishing, guiding, and destination company that provides high quality fly fishing services.

Free and open to all, so invite all of your family, friends, and colleagues! (No charge to attend; food and beverages will be available for sale by the brewery.)

If you can't attend in person, if onsite technology at the brewery allows, we hope to be live-streaming our speakers via Zoom beginning at 7:30pm. Register below to receive the Zoom link. (Note that the 6:00pm fly tying session is in-person only, and will not be online.)
